**Bhubaneswar: ** After being further cornered by his former loyal lieutenant Debashis alias Debu Mallick recently who at a press meet corroborated Kendrapada MP Baijayanta Panda’s anti-BJD activities and pro-BJP activities during the Panchayat and Bijepur by-poll, BJD-suspended Baijayant Panda on Thursday tried for a ‘tit for tat’ tactic at his personal office here by roping in Kendrapada BJD Minority Cell former president Md Salim Khan.
While Salim Khan claimed himself to be a loyal BJD worker, he was vividly seen fumbling to the barrage of media cross questions volleyed on him.
Firstly, he could not convince the media query why he chose the personal office of Baijayant Panda despite the fact that Panda has been suspended from BJD for his anti-party activities and repeated tweets as well as jibes against BJD leadership.
In his reply, Salim Khan managed to argue that Baijayant Panda has been suspended from BJD, not removed. He also tried to convince media that Panda’s heart still aches for BJD as he still treats and addresses Naveen Patnaik as his leader.
When Salim tried to reason out that he has been threatened and his family’s safety is also at stake if he supported Baijayant, he admitted that he has not yet reported it to the police nor tried to adopt other channels to seek security and also tried to approach BJD supremo.
Salim simply tried to convince his level best that he sought to make BJD supremo aware of the fact through this press meet that Baijayant Panda is innocent and a high level conspiracy has been hatched against Panda to defame and oust him from BJD.
The former Kendrapada BJD Minority Cell president released an audio tape of 25 minutes duration to establish that a former minister and a government administrator have hatched the conspiracy against Baijayant Panda following which Debu Mallick could allegedly be gained over to spit venom against Baijayant Panda at the recent press meet.
However, Baijayant Panda was himself conspicuous by his absence at Salim Khan’s press meet despite convened at his personal office here. It is also yet to be ascertained if Baijayant Panda has any inkling of such a press meet convened at his own office in support of him and in a bid to spilling the beans of the claimed BJD conspiracy.
On the contrary, BJD’s reactions on Salim Khan’s allegations could not be gathered till the filing of this story.
