Cuttack: Kin of former MP Baijayant Panda were evicted from their residence in Cuttack city on Friday over a bank loan default of Rs 1.29 crore.

Damayanti Satpathy wife of Minaketan Satpathy, Panda’s nephew, had taken a business loan from Temple Marg branch of Allahabad Bank in Bhubaneswar in the year 2016. She had mortgaged the house at Sikharpur area in Cuttack city for the loan.

As she failed to pay the EMIs and ignored the bank’s notices, bank officials conducted a raid on her house today and empowered by an eviction notice issued by the District Collector asked her to leave the house.
