Baitarani, Jalaka Flowing Above Danger Mark In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Following incessant heavy rainfall under the influence of the weather system, the Baitarani and Jalaka rivers are flowing above the danger mark in Odisha.

The water level of Baitarani river was flowing at 18.32 metres against the danger level of 17.83 at Akhuapada in Bhadrak district, while the water level of Jalaka river was flowing at 6.51 metres against the danger level of 5.50 metres at Mathani in Balasore district by 6.00 AM today.

While the water level of Jalaka river at Mathani is still rising, the water level of Baitarani at Akhuapada was reported to be steady.

As per the information received from the State Emergency Operation Centre (EOC), the water level is rising at eight places in Mahanadi, Devi, IB, Brahmani, Burhabalanga, Subarnarekha, Vansadhara, and Jalaka rivers.
