Jharsuguda: The District Informatics Officer (DIO) of Balangir allegedly committed suicide at his Brajarajnagar-based residence in Jharsuguda district on Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as C.V.K. Maruti Rao, working as DIO at Balangir District Unit of the National Informatics Centre (NIC) in the Collectorate building.
He committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan of his house. While family members had rushed him to the district headquarters hospital, he was declared dead.
While police have initiated a probe into the matter, the exact reason behind his death is yet to be ascertained.
