Balasore By-Poll: CM Naveen Holds Virtual Campaign, Assures Monitoring Developmental Work Personally Like Bijepur

Bhubaneswar: Close on the heels of holding virtual campaign for the Tirtol assembly seat yesterday, BJD supremo and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today campaigned for the Balasore assembly seat through video conferencing from here amid the ongoing pandemic protocols.

Addressing the voters of Balasore constituency, he said, “You all love me and if I had toured Balasore today for poll campaigning, you would have turned up in large number. I would never want that anyone should fall into danger for me. Hence, I’m meeting you through video conferencing. After eradication of Corona, I’ll tour Balasore and meet you all.”

“Balasore is an important place of Odisha. The State Government has established Fakir Mohan University and a new medical college and hospital. There are ample scopes for the development of Balasore. I wish to further the development of Balasore to the next level. I have always been stressing on the rights and development of the slum-dwellers here. In the near past, we have launched the work for the development of slums from this Balasore city. Efforts are on for every slum to be provided with good road, safe drinking water supply, electricity and other basic amenities. Every slum is being converted into a model colony. Similarly, the poor slum-dwellers have been granted land right. Similarly, the rural poor have also been provided with land and pucca houses, irrigation facility, rural road, electricity, safe drinking water. It’s my special focus,” he highlighted.

He added, “The women of our Mission Shakti have been doing remarkable jobs starting from Covid management to many others. The properity of our women gives me immense pleasure. I’m always with you. You keep on doing your good job.”

The Odisha CM also mentioned, “Balasore often reminds me of Fakir Mohan Senapati. He is my favourite author. I love most his Rebati story. Similarly, I’m reminded of two personalities. They are Biju Babu and Dr Abdul Kalam. Whenever Dr Abdul Kalam used to meet Biju Babu, Biju Babu persuaded him to establish such a mission so that China could be intimidated. When Biju Babu was Odisha’s Chief Minister in 1993, Prithvi missile was test-fired for the first time from Chandipur. Whenever missiles are test-fired from here, both the famous patriots are remembered. I’m optimistic that India will be a super power in the whole world and Balasore’s name and fame will spread globally.”
“I humbly request you all to take utmost Covid precautions while going to polling booths. Your lives are very precious for your families as well as for me. You all know that the general election will be held after three years. Lots of development work can be done within the period. Like Bijepur, I’ll myself monitor the development work of Balasore. Special attention will be given to it. I appeal you all to vote in favour of the Biju Janata Dal candidate,” the BJD supremo concluded.
