Balasore Fake Currency Racket: 2 More Arrested
**Soro:** In the fake note racket that was busted earlier on April 10 arresting five men involved, two more were arrested by the Simulia police here on Thursday.
Reportedly, the police had earlier arrested five in connection with the fake currency notes racket seizing Rs 2000 denomination worth Rs 44,000. Investigating further, the police were in search of two other men who have been apprehended yesterday.
The arrested men were identified as Farhad Khan and Hashim Ali of Soro and Jaleswar respectively.
Fake Rs 2000 denomination worth Rs 6000 were seized from the two in total.
IIC Sanjay Parida said, “Earlier five men were arrested in the fake note racket and further investigation led us to the arrest of two more today. We have seized three Rs 2000 notes denomination from their possession. We will forward them to the court soon”.
Earlier, five people were arrested while trying to deposit 22 numbers of Rs 2000 denomination worth Rs 44, 000 at Khirikana Cooperative Society on April 10 after which the investigation was on.
The police is trying to extract more information from the recently arrested individuals.
