Soro: In a bizarre incident, a girl of Hatigadiya village under Soro police limits in Odisha’s Balasore district attacked her parents with a knife injuring them critically on Monday night.

According to reports, Kuni Singh (20), the eldest daughter of Ranjit Singh (38) and his wife Buduni Singh (32), has been living at her parents’ house for two years even after marriage. Kuni was talking to someone over the phone when Ranjit and his wife Buduni were having dinner on Monday. As the couple did not like their daughters using mobile phones, Buduni rebuked Kuni while complimenting her younger daughter.

Kuni was infuriated over this and reportedly suffered a panic attack. She attacked her mother with a knife injuring her critically and when her father Ranjit tried to save Buduni, he was also attacked with the knife. Ranjit suffered deep wounds on his stomach and hands, while Buduni sustained deep wounds on her hands and head.

Hearing their cries for help, neighbours came to their rescue and informed the police about the incident. Soon, Soro Police arrived at the spot and rescued Ranjit and Buduni. The couple was rushed to the Soro Community Health Center (CHC) in a critical condition.

The police detained Kuni Singh but no complaint was filed against her till the time of filing this report.
