Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported high temperatures in several Odisha cities at 11:30 AM today.

As per the latest update shared by IMD scientist Umasankar Das, at 11:30 AM, Balasore led the list with 38.4°C, followed by Sambalpur (37.2°C), Bhubaneswar (36.6°C), Jharsuguda (36.4°C), Puri (36.4°C), and Paradip (34.4°C).

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the southwest monsoon, which had been making steady progress in Odisha, has stalled and is unlikely to advance further in the next 7 days. As a result, the state is expected to experience heatwave conditions in the coming days.

The temperature is expected to rise, and the heatwave will prevail in most parts of the state, including coastal districts. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions to avoid heat-related illnesses. The IMD has predicted that the heatwave will continue to affect the state in the coming days.
