Balasore: Soro police have busted a notorious dacoity gang with the arrest of three persons recently. They are members of a gang that is allegedly involved in multiple crimes in and around Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Bhadrak and other parts of the State.
The three were nabbed following a probe into a case of robbery which took place in Anantpur area recently. They have been booked under Section 395 of the IPC and Section 25 of the Arms Act. Besides, Rs 4800 in case, 3 mobile phones and a motorcycle were seized from them.
Interrogation of the accused persons led to detection few more cases of Soro and other police stations of Balasore, Mayurbhanj and Bhadrak districts, Superintendent of Police, Balasore, Sagarika Nath said.
“The identities of all the accused persons involved in the crime were ascertained. The accused belong to the same gang that commits crime in these districts. They even hire criminals from other parts of Odisha and Maharastra for this purpose.”
“They are involved in more than 30 property-related offences in and around Balasore district. The investigation of the case is on for further recovery and arrest of their accomplices,” Nath added.
