Balasore Police Crack Dacoity Case, Arrest 6 Accused & Recover Rs 5.2 Lakh

Balasore: The police here cracked a dacoity case, arrested six accused and recovered a sword and cash worth Rs 5,22,000 from their possession.

According to the local authorities, while Balai Kumar Jena, owner of a shop named “Jana Sales Agency,” at OT Road in Balasore was returning from his godown after closing it on Wednesday last, six unknown miscreants attacked him with the intention of dacoity and looted Rs 8.0 lakh from him.

On being informed, the Balasore police swung into action and nabbed the accused and recovered looted cash worth Rs 5,22,000 from their possession. The police also recovered one scooty and one motorcycle, which the miscreants used to flee the spot after committing the crime. They also seized two swords and five mobile phones from the possession of the accused.

The Town Police have registered a case (No. 40, dated 15.02.2023) under Section 395 IPC turned into 395 IPC/25/27 Arms Act in this connection.
