Balasore: The Balasore Police in coordination with general public of the industrial town have launched project Sahyog. Under this project the police aims at installing CCTV Cameras at different vital junctions of Balasore in order to aid in traffic management as well as control of crime and criminals activities.
This will be done by crowdfunding process in which local people of Balasore have come together to adopt certain junctions to install CCTVs. At first, 30 junctions were identified such as Cinema Chhak, Golapokhari Chhak, Phuladi Chhak, Puruna Balasore, etc.
These newly installed cameras will be centrally connected to the command and control centre at Traffic Police Station via the existing ODINET fibre cable.
“In the long run we intend to also connect the installed cameras of various installations as well as institutions such as Banks, Jewelry shops, Resident welfare associations etc. with our centralized command and control centre for more effective crime and criminal identification and tracking system,” SP Sagarika Nath said
