Balasore & Tirtol Assembly By-Elections Voting Live Updates

Bhubaneswar: The Assembly constituencies of Balasore Sadar and Tirtol Assembly went for by-elections today. About 4.5 lakhs voters will be casting their votes in 346 and 373 polling booths in Balasore Sadar and Tirtol respectively.

5.00 PM: The voter turnout in Balasore is 68.19% and 67.97% in Tirtol. The overall voting percentage is 68.08%: Odisha CEO

3.00 PM: The voter turnout in Balasore Sadar is 54.85% and 55.23% in Tirtol. The overall voting percentage is 55.04%: Odisha CEO

1.00 PM: The voter turnout in Balasore Sadar is 41.36% and 39.68% in Tirtol. The overall voting percentage is 40.51%: Odisha CEO

11.00 AM: The voter turnout in Balasore Sadar is 27.6% and 24.93% in Tirtol. The overall voting percentage is 26.24%: Odisha CEO

9.30 AM: In Balasore Sadar Assembly constituency 2 ballots, 1 control unit & 7 VVPATs have been changed. Meanwhile, in Tirtol 9 VVPATs and 23 control units have been changed after detection of fault during mock-poll: Odisha CEO

9 AM: Overall 9.81% of voters have cast their votes. 7.58% and 12.11% voters voted in Tirtol and Balasore Sadar constituencies respectively. Hopeful that figures will improve. No reported incidents of poll-related violence today, CEO Sushil Kumar Lohani informed. He added that 15 model polling booths have been set-up with extra facilities for voters.
