Bangladeshi Minor Rescued From Puri, Accuses NGO Of Physical-Sexual Assault

**Puri:** A Bangladeshi minor boy has labelled serious allegations against the Khurda-based NGO “Asha Kiran” after escaping from their facility. The boy alleged that the NGO officials used to torture him and sexually assaulted some of his fellow inmates.

The victim has officially lodged complained with the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Puri.

After receiving the complaint, CWC Chairman Siddharth Ray, has written to the Odisha Government asking for probe into the allegations.

Speaking to the media, Ray said, “Some child right activists rescued this boy on 8th March from the Puri Railway Station. After 5-6 days of counselling, the boy revealed his experience at the facility. It’s a serious case and we have requested the State Government to take immediate actions.”

Sources said, the boy was living in the NGO for last 3 years. He somehow escaped from the place and was rescued from Puri railway station.

The minor is unable to walk due to torture inflicted by the NGO officials.

He is currently undergoing treatment at a discreet place here after preliminary treatment at the District Headquarters Hospital here due to security concerns.
