Balasore: Ruma Mariam of Amtoli area of Bardhana district of neighbouring Bangladesh has landed in Budhakusumi village under Kamarda police station limits of Balasore district in search of her estranged lover on Sunday.

Reportedly, six years back Ruma and Birendra Pratap Bhanja of Budhakusumi village had come to know each other through social media and had fallen in love.

Later, Birenda visited Bangladesh and apart from meeting Ruma there had developed a relationship with her. Ruma has claimed that after six years of relationship, she had married Birendra in the presence of a maulana in Cox Bazar, Bangladesh as per Muslim marriage rites.

After maintaining conjugal rites for a pretty long time, Birendra started ill-treating her and distanced himself from her, alleged Ruma. On the contrary, Birendra got married elsewhere on June 26th this year.

However, Ruma is insistent on staying with Birendra and on Sunday visited the latter’s house. She was allegedly driven away by Birendra’s family members and their fellow villagers. Birendra’s father and other fellow villagers have said that Ruma’s claim was false.

On the other hand, Ruma has some videos and pictures of her intimate moments with Birendra as proof of her claim and will be meeting Balasore SP tomorrow to seek justice.
