Puri: A Bangladeshi youth has been arrested for allegedly taking picture of Lord Jagannath with a phone that he managed to take inside the 12th century shrine (a restricted zone for cellphones).
The matter came to fore one week back when the aforementioned photo went viral on the Internet, posing questions of the security and surveilance.
The youth has been identified as Akash Choudhury (23), a native of Zinda Bazar in Sylhet district of Bangladesh. Singhawar police seized a mobile phone from his possession. A Bangladeshi passport was also seized from the accused.
The youth from Bangladesh was arrested for taking photographs inside Sri Jagannath Temple, Puri and sharing the same through his facebook account.
He was booked under Section 30(A)(4)(C) of Sri Jagannath Temple Act, 1954 and forwarded to the court.
