Puri: Police have successfully foiled an attempt by dacoits to loot a bank Automated Teller Machine (ATM) in Puri with the arrest of six persons.
Police have also seized crude bombs, two swords, two iron rods, and a torch from their possession.
According to reports, acting on a tip-off Kumbharpada police at around 11.30 PM on Friday apprehended two persons from the Devi Ghat area at Narendrakona while they were planning to loot the Punjab National Bank (PNB) ATM located at Medical Chowk.
Subsequently, police managed to apprehend four more persons from the spot while three others managed to escape.
The arrestees were booked under sections 399, 402 of IPC and section 25 of the Arms Act.
They were forwarded to court today.
