Bhubaneswar: Cricket enthusiasts in Odisha have a reason to cheer as Cuttack’s iconic Barabati Stadium is likely to host one of the T20 matches between India and South Africa this December.
The visitors are set to tour India for a multi-format series, comprising two Tests, three ODIs, and five T20Is, starting in late November, as reported by national media.
This tour follows the successful four-match T20I bilateral series played in November 2024, where India emerged victorious in South Africa. Although there’s no official confirmation from the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) or the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) yet, national media reports suggest that the Barabati Stadium might host the first T20I match on December 9.
The T20I series, serving as a precursor to next year’s T20 World Cup, is scheduled to take place on December 9, 11, 14, 17, and 19. The matches will be held in Cuttack, Nagpur, Dharamsala, Lucknow, and Ahmedabad.
