Bhubaneswar: As preparations have begun for the world‑famous Bargarh Dhanu Yatra, the Additional District Magistrate and Vice‑Chairman of the Dhanu Yatra Mahotsav Committee issued a notification inviting artists to apply for various roles beginning today.
Artists who wish to participate in the 78th Bargarh Dhanu Yatra Mahotsav can apply from October 18 to November 1. The committee has invited applications from interested artists for various roles, including Maharaja Kansa, Mahamantri, Sartaki, Mustik, Akroor, Ugrasena, Basudev, Devaki, Narad, and Senapati.
Application forms can be downloaded from the Bargarh district website https://bargarh.odisha.gov.in or the Dhanuyatra website https//bargarhdhanuyatra.in and submitted online or offline.
As per the rules, applications received after the deadline will not be considered. An artist can apply for a maximum of two roles. Applicants must have experience performing in open-air theatres without scripts.
Selected candidates will bear their own travel expenses during the selection process. Interested artists can dress up at their own expense during the selection process if they wish.
Most importantly, selected artists cannot perform in any other Dhanu Yatra while performing in Bargarh Dhanu Yatra.
