Bargarh: Three members of a family died one after another following a tragic suicide attempt at their house in Sohela area of the district on Sunday morning.
While the brother – sister duo had succumbed after consuming poison at hospital, their mother Kumudini Sahu died at Sohela CHC today morning.
According to reports, the family was under stress following the death of Kumudini’s husband on September 6.
Sources said they were unable to cope up with the loss and attempted to end their lives. On Sunday morning, at around 11 am, they locked themselves in a room and consumed insecticide.
After coming to know about this, the neighbours immediately informed the police. Upon reaching at the spot, the police broke open the door and rescued them in serious conditions.
They rushed the trio to Sohela CHC. Later, Bansidhar (the son) was shifted to VIMSAR, Burla, where he breathed his last during treatment.
Similarly, Subarna (daughter) succumbed while being shifted from the Sohela government hospital to VIMSAR, Burla. Kumudini, who was struggling for life at Sohela CHC, died today morning.
