Baripada Turns Hottest Place In Odisha At 39.8 Degree C

Bhubaneswar: As the heat wave condition has started prevailing over the State, Baripada (district headquarters town of Mayurbhanj district) today went ahead of Bhubaneswar by registering the highest maximum temperature (day temperature) of 39.8 degree Celsius (C) while Bhubaneswar recorded 39 degree today.

As per the evening weather bulletin released by the Bhubaneswar Met Centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD), the other places where the mercury touched 39 degree C and above today are Angul-39.7, Talcher and Boudh-39.5, and Bolangir-39 degree C while Hirakud in Sambalpur district registered a maximum temperature of 38.5, Phulbani in Kandhamal district and Sundargarh realized 37.0 degree C.

Earlier in the day in its Mid Day Weather Bulletin, the IMD Met Centre has a forecast of hot weather condition with above normal maximum temperature (day temperature) by about 5 degree C very likely at some places over the districts of Khurda, Cuttack, Angul, Boudh, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Bhadrak and Nayagarh during next 24 hours.
