Cuttack: In view of India vs West Indies, 1st T20 International match scheduled to be held at the Barabati Stadium here on February 15, the Board of Control for Cricket In India (BCCI) broadcasting team today conducted an inspection of the ground.
However, in view of the surge in Covid-19 cases in the State and country caused by the highly transmissible Omicron variant of the coronavirus, participation of spectators in the event remains wrapped in suspense.
Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) CEO Subrat Behera has said that the decision whether spectators will be allowed to watch the event will be taken by the government.
He, however, maintained that OCA is prepared to host the match and the issue pertaining to spectators will be clear after its meeting scheduled with the government in the coming days.
