BDA-BMC Carry Out Eviction Drive Near Bomikhal Santoshi Temple

**Bhubaneswar:** To make way for new roads and drains, and continuing its stance of “Zero Tolerance Policy” towards encroachment on government land, Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) and Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) along with Commissionerate Police removed the unauthorised occupations near Santoshi Maa temple at Bomikhal today morning.

Tin sheeted-extension of eight shops were removed in the eviction programme under the Central Enforcement Monitoring Committee (CEMC). The drive was organised following a requisition given by the Public Works Department (PWD) for expansion of road and construction of drain.

One platoon of APR force and one section of lady police force were present at the demolition site to maintain law and order during drive. Two enforcement squads of BDA were also deployed.

Another drive was also carried out by the joint squad without police personnel near Kalinga Hospital Square, where illegal extensions of 15 ‘Prayas’ kiosks were demolished.
