Bhubaneswar: A joint team of the Commissionerate of Police and the Bhubaneswar Development Authority on Thursday carried out a demolition drive at Trahi Achyuta Nagar on the city outskirts.
The BDA has identified around 21 plots in Jhinti village where Trahi Achyuta Ashram was established by self-styled godman Surendra Mishra popular as Sura Baba. He passed away in December 2020.
The illegally constructed houses were demolished despite protests by the locals. Reports stated that total 10 houses will be demolished in the first phase, and the enforcement would continue till all the illegal buildings in the area are razed.
