Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) is going to organize ‘Park Utsav’ programme at seven locations in the city consecutively for seven Sundays from February 2 in order to ensure that the visitors and participants are presented with an opportunity to experience all the urban delights that the city offers.
The event to be held at Indira Gandhi Park, Madhusudan Das Park, Biju Patnaik Park, Mahatma Gandhi Park, Kharavel Park, Buddha Jayanti Park and Nicco Park from 7 AM to 9 AM offers a festive environment befitting the surroundings of the park and the mood of the citizens.
With this, the BDA intends to organize a series of events, part of the park programming, involving citizen participation, including colleges and institutions, with an aim to re-position Bhubaneswar as a destination with a unique feel and festive ambience that combines Odia and international cultural experiences.
The target audience will include citizens (especially children) and tourists, to ensure that a memorable experience is created for all. The attractions of the event are Wall Painting of park, Storytelling, Yoga, Clay Pottery making, Entertainment, Awareness Campaign Programme, etc.
Reportedly, a dedicated team of 10 people will be deployed in each park for the safeguarding of the park infrastructure like signage board, park furniture, flowers, lighting, etc. While BDA will identify proper parking facilities to avoid traffic congestion, cleaning of the parks after the event will be undertaken by Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).
