Bhubaneswar: The Block Development Officer (BDO) of Tileibani block in Deogarh district was allegedly attacked by the local MLA on Saturday. The BDO, Krushnachandra Dalapati has filed a police complaint against legislator Subash Chandra Panigrahi in this matter.
According to the complaint, Panigrahi had asked Dalapati to meet him over a matter. “As I was away for an inspection at Chhepalipali, I expressed my inability to come and meet him at that time. Irked with my reply, the MLA came with his supporters to the village and assaulted me,” said Dalapati.
The BDO said that he had requested the MLA to meet him after returning from Chhepalipali. “I was very respectful with the MLA over the phone and also when he came to the village. But they started beating me in the presence of my staff. I have also taken up the matter with our Collector,” he added.
Meanwhile, Panigrahi has also lodged a counter-complaint against the BDO, reports stated.
