Nuapada: A bear was beaten to death after it allegedly killed three persons and injured two of Samarsingh village in Lakhna gram panchayat under Komna block of Nuapada district on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Rabi Rana (30), Nakul Majhi (58), and Ratan Majhi (60). The injured persons are Kuna Majhi (23) and Parmeshwar Majhi (25).
Reportedly, the five had gone for farming when they were attacked by the bear. As they did not return home, family members had gone to search them and came to know about the incident.
The injured persons were admitted to the district headquarters hospital. Later, the irate villagers attacked the bear and killed it.
