Bargarh: Forest department officials have seized a bear hide, 18 bear nails, a monitor hide, pangolin scales, a horn of Sambar, wires, etc. in Bargarh district and have arrested seven persons in this connection.
Briefing reporters, Assistant Conservator of Forest (ACF) Bargarh Rajendra Gochhayat said that Forest department staff formed a team and posing as decoy customers were successful in nabbing two of the accused persons and seized from them a bear hide and 18 bear nails.
Similarly, while patrolling in Dechhuan Reserve Forest area under Bhatli Forest Range in Bargarh district departmental staff apprehended five persons who were involved in illegal hooking and following search a monitor hide, pangolin scales, a horn of Sambar, wires, etc were seized from them, Gochhayat added.
