Sambalpur: Maa Samaleswari Temple, the abode of western Odisha’s presiding deity Maa Samaleswari is the next in the line in Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s development plans for temples.
The Chief Minister has also plans for developing Hirakud for international tourism.
Patnaik after offering his prayers at the Maa Samaleswari Temple here today on his return from Bargarh announced that beautification and development of the temple along with various facilities for devotees and tourists will be undertaken.
“I came to offer my prayers at the Maa Samaleswari Temple for the welfare of the people. We will send an expert team to assess what is required for the temple and what it will cost not only for the temple but also for the pilgrims who will be coming,” said Patnaik briefing newsmen here after visiting the temple.
The Chief Minister also announced that Hirakud would be developed into an international tourism centre with the development of water sports, garden, convention centre, landscaping, etc.
“Also we will assess what is required for tourism for Hirakud. Hirakud has tremendous tourism potential. We will find out what is required for international tourism,” he said.
