Bhubaneswar: With few more days left for the monsoon to hit Odisha, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation is working in top gear to clear drains across the State Capital.
Municipal Commissioner Samarth Verma said that multiple teams of the Corporation are working around to city to complete desilting of drains.
“This is being done at war footing. I have instructed the supervisors to ensure complete desilting of the drains and also to remove the sludge withing two days of extraction,” Verma said.
The BMC has arranged a large number of pumpsets which would be deployed in case there is a water logging situation in any part of the city.
“Apart from our own pumps, we have arranged some from the Fire Service Department and also got some on hire from the market. So far, 45 locations vulnerable to water logging have been identified,” he said.
