Berhampur: In a swift operation, Berhampur Police arrested four young men on Saturday for the alleged gang rape of two minor sisters in a secluded area of Ganjam district.
The accused, all in their early 20s, have been identified as K Shiva (son of a village head in the Golanthara police station area), K Sai, G Gareiya, and N Srinu.
Briefing reporters at the Berhampur police headquarters, Superintendent of Police Saravana Vivek M detailed the horrific incident.
According to the SP, the prime accused, K Shiva, allegedly lured the 14-year-old victim from her home and raped her. He then reportedly called the three other accused to the isolated location, where they took turns assaulting her.
Police further stated that the victim’s 11-year-old sister was also subjected to gang rape by the same group of accused at the scene.
Police seized a mobile phone and a two-wheeler believed to have been used in the commission of the crime.
All four suspects were presented before a local court following their arrest.
