Betel Shopkeeper Found Murdered In Jagatsinghpur, Probe Underway

Bhubaneswar: Tension ran high at Jogadhari Square near the Jagatsinghpur bus stand after a betel shop owner was found brutally murdered late Friday night.

The deceased is Gyanranjan Pothal, a resident of Pokpur area in Jagatsinghpur district.

Police have recovered a chopper from the crime scene, suspected to be the weapon used in the murder.

According to sources, Gyan Ranjan usually returns home after closing his shop. When he didn’t return on time yesterday night, his wife went to look for him with a neighbour.

They found Gyan Ranjan lying in a pool of blood in front of his shop.

Upon being informed, police launched a manhunt to nab the culprit who remains at large. However, the exact motive behind the murder is still unclear.
