Bhubaneswar: After detection of five new novel coronavirus positive cases in the district of Bhadrak, five Gram Panchayats have been notified as Containment Zones.
The official Twitter handle of the Bhadrak district administration made the announcement. Of the five cases detected, two are from Bhandaripokhari and rest three from Basudevpur. Notably, all five of them had returned from Kolkata, West Bengal a few days ago.
Five +ve cases have been reported in the following blocks

Accordingly, necessary restrictions have been imposed which restrict the movement of people in and out of the containment zones. All essential commodities will be made available to the public.
Bhadrak Collector Dr Gyana Das informed via tweet that distribution of PDS and other individual benefits in the five Gram Panchayats of Basudevpur and Bhandaripokhari blocks will remain suspended during the containment period.

With five cases from Bhadrak and two from Balasore, the total count of positive COVID-19 cases in the State rose to 68.
