Bhubaneswar: Soon after Odisha Congress Commitee chief Niranjan Patnaik tendered his resignation, the party’s Campaign Committee Chairman Bhakta Charan Das also announced his resignation from the post today after poll debacle.
In his letter, the Former Union Minister wrote, “On the event of the failure of the Election in Odisha, I being the responsible leader of the Party and Chairman of Campaign Committee could not campaign in the state. We failed to perform better in the state, and I also feel equally responsible for the failure of the party.”
“I strongly feel that new approach new emphasis should be given to the party and party organisation should begin from zero level. Therefore I tender my resignation to make a new beginning of the party and the state,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, OPCC chief Niranjan Patnaik too resigned today citing that it was his ‘moral responsibility’ to do so as people had more faith in Naveen Patnaik and Narendra Modi.
