Bhubaneswar: The nationwide strike (Bharat Bandh) called by major trade unions and other associations on Wednesday have affected normal life across Odisha.
Educational institutions, offices, shops, commercial establishments and banks have been shut. Besides, bus and train services have come to a standstill. However, several emergency services have been kept out of the purview of the bandh.
Reportedly, central trade unions and six bank unions have announced a nationwide strike in order to protest against various issues including the anti-labour policy of the Union Government, economic slowdown, unemployment and Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).
