Bhubaneswar: Deputy Chief Minister and Minister Women & Child Development Pravati Parida on Friday met the Army officer’s fiancée at AIIMS Bhubaneswar who was allegedly assaulted at the Bharatpur police station.
The Deputy CM met the victim who is undergoing treatment at AIIMS Bhubaneswar and listened to her ordeal at the police station in detail. She discussed the matter with the DCP and enquired about the investigation.
“The case has been now transferred to the Crime Branch. The DGP has suspended five police officials. Under the instructions of the Chief Minister today I have come to meet the victim. The government has declared zero tolerance to crimes against women. Therefore whosoever is the culprit the report will be expedited and will be available within a specified time frame. Whosoever is the culprit will be certainly punished,” said Parida.
The Deputy CM stated that the victim is doing well but whosoever would have undergone such an ordeal will definitely get mentally shattered.
“The victim has shared everything that has happened with her and action will be surely taken,” said Parida.
