Bhubaneswar: The Bhitarkanika National Park will remain closed for tourists for the next three months, from today until July 31, to facilitate the breeding of saltwater crocodiles.
As per reports, the forest department has issued a notification prohibiting the entry of tourists and boats, including fishing and motorised vessels, into the national park during this time. The closure aims to ensure the safety of both tourists and the crocodiles.
During this period, visitors will not be allowed to enter the park as the female crocodiles will be laying eggs and guarding their nests, making them more aggressive.
The park is expected to reopen on August 1, allowing tourists to explore its mangrove ecosystem and wildlife once again.
