Bhubaneswar: With no respite from the scorching heatwave prevailing across Odisha, the mercury breached 40°C in at least five places in the state at 11.30 am on Wednesday.
The maximum temperatures recorded at various locations at 11:30 am today:
- Jharsuguda: 41.3°C
- Bhubaneswar: 41.2°C
- Sambalpur: 40.6°C
- Hirakud: 40.4°C
- Keonhar: 40°C
- Rourkela: 39.6°C
- Balasore: 39.5°C
- Paradeep: 34.7°C
- Puri: 33.8°C
- Gopalpur: 32.4°C
Meanwhile, the regional office of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar predicted that the heatwave will continue for another three days and some respite can be expected on Sunday with the Kalbaisakhi lashing the coastal regions of Odisha.
