Bhubaneswar: Border Security Force (BSF) men today conducted a massive Swachhata Campaign (cleanliness drive) at the Khandagiri and Udayagiri hills here as part of its nation-wide Swachhata Awareness Campaign.
This nation-wide Swachhata Awareness Campaign of the BSF was started on BSF Raising Day i.e December 1 will continue till December 15.
During this fortnight-long drive, the men in uniform created awareness among citizens about cleanliness, healthy living and its effect to lead a happy life.
In these two weeks BSF troops deployed in Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, and Rayagada districts put extensive efforts in cleaning nearby hospitals, schools, colleges and market places to have a complete awareness among the inhabitants.
“Swachhata is the very basis of life. This is our message for all. The message is ‘be clean be happy’. In Odisha, we have been deployed for a special purpose. We are observing this fortnight wherever we have been deployed be it Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur and Rayagada or any other place in the country,” said BSF IG Harmandip Pal speaking to reporters here.
He added that every individual must be aware of cleanliness to follow it and educate others as well.
“I wish, our cohesive efforts would be helpful to our society in maintaining a healthy environment and healthy life,” Pal stated.
