Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated Odisha citizens and residents of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, especially after the Union Cabinet approved the Access-Controlled Capital Region Ring Road (Bhubaneswar Bypass).

In an X post, Modi stated that this important road infrastructure project will reduce congestion and promote ease of living. “Congratulations to the people of Odisha, especially to the people of Bhubaneswar and its surrounding areas, on the important infrastructure projects that received Cabinet approval today. This will reduce congestion and promote ‘ease of living,'” PM Modi stated.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed sincere gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari after the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) approved the 110.875 km long Bhubaneswar Bypass road at a total cost of Rs 8,307.74 crore.

The CCEA, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved the construction of a six-lane, access-controlled Capital Region Ring Road (Bhubaneswar Bypass) in Odisha on Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM) at a total cost of ₹8,307.74 crore.

The project alignment integrates with three major National Highways (NH-55, NH-57, and NH-655) and one State Highway (SH-65), providing seamless connectivity to key economic, social, and logistics nodes across Odisha. The project is expected to generate approximately 74.43 lakh person-days of direct and 93.04 lakh person-days of indirect employment, opening new avenues for growth, development, and prosperity in surrounding regions
