Bhubaneswar: A devastating collision occurred early Saturday morning at Damana Square in Bhubaneswar, leaving at least two people critically injured.

The driver and a passenger of a car sustained grievous injuries after their vehicle was rear-ended by a speeding Hyva truck.

The injured were rushed to Capital Hospital. Their condition is stated to be critical. Two others reportedly suffered minor injuries in the accident.

Eyewitnesses stated that the car was stationary alongside the main road when the over-speeding Hyva truck struck it from behind, resulting in extensive damage to both vehicles.

The truck driver, who sustained minor injuries, has been taken into custody by Chandrasekharpur Police.

The impact of the collision was so severe that it left both vehicles severely damaged.

The accident caused significant traffic disruptions at Damana Square. To restore traffic flow, authorities deployed a JCB machine to remove the wreckage from the road, clearing the path for commuters.

An investigation into the incident is underway.
