Bhubaneswar: The capital city of Odisha has earned the Open Defecation Free (ODF) ++ status after a third-party verification, informed the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Sunday.
One of the key indicators of the Swachh Bharat Mission is the ODF++ status. The survey was conducted by the Quality Council of India (QCI) in various parts of the city on December 10 and 11 to review the sanitation and hygiene conditions.
The BMC has complied with the requirements. Not only administrative work or infrastructure was perfect for this but the cooperation and sanitation behaviour of the citizens played a key role in achieving the ODF++ status, said BMC Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary.
