Bhubaneswar Elderly Couple Tied Up, Jewellery Worth Lakhs Looted

Bhubaneswar: In a daring loot attempt, a local Samantrapur-based elderly couple were first tied and then locked up to be looted up later. The miscreants decamped with jewellery and cash worth lakhs.

The loot undertook at one Bishnu Charan Palai’s residence located at Plot no.53 in Lane 7 of Divya Vihar of Samantrapur, as per reports. The miscreants stealthily broke the window grille and made their way into the house. The Palai couple’s hands and legs were tied up and locked up in a room.  

As per reports, gold jewellery and cash worth Rs 5 Lakh was looted.

Dhauli Police rushed to the spot upon getting informed. A team of forensic experts with the help of sniffer dogs inspected the entire scene. The couple have lodged a complaint and a search for looted items and the miscreants in underway.
