**Bhubaneswar: ** In the rerun of Bengaluru shame in broad day light on the busy road of Odisha’s capital city here on Friday afternoon, Commissionerate Police has identified the accused youths from the video shot by a victim by means of her cell phone and they are to be arrested soon.
Bhubaneswar DCP Satyabarata Bhoi told media on Saturday, “Yesterday (Friday) an FIR was filed with the Nandankanan police. Three girls and a boy have complained that they have been misbehaved and also attacked. A case has been registered and investigation is on. We’ve already identified the culprits. The bike used has been seized. Questioning of people is on and we’re hopeful that the culprits will be arrested soon. After apprehending them and following their interrogations, the exact cause behind the incident can only be ascertained. Involvement of other aides can also be known then.
Those youths who were present on the spot during the commotion have already been identified.”
Notably, the shocking incident took place when the three victim girls and one of their male friends were busy chit-chatting near Magnet Square in Patia area here when a band of bike-borne youths allegedly accosted and passed filthy comments on the girls. Despite protests from the girls, the miscreants kept on passing lewd remarks and fled.
In a bid to teach those hooligans a lesson, the three girls and their male friend chased them on the Patia-Nandankanan Road on their two bikes. Even after covering about a kilometre, the girls could not trace them out as the miscreants had vanished by then.
When the girls and their male friend had halted midway there, some other youths, believed to be friends of the previous miscreants, rushed there and allegedly resorted to abusing them.
The girls again protested when the second lot of miscreants started harassing them physically.
They too allegedly thrashed their male friend.
