Bhubaneswar: The 77th Capital Foundation Day will be celebrated on the 13th and 14th of this month. In preparation, the Odisha government has already conducted a high-level meeting to plan the celebrations. The event will be marked with grandeur, including parades and various competitions among college-level students.
At the beginning of the meeting, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Additional Commissioner Shubendu Sahu briefed participants on the key decisions taken regarding the celebration of Capital Foundation Day. A review meeting was held today to ensure effective execution of the plans.
The meeting took place at the Capital High School Conference Hall under the chairmanship of Additional District Magistrate Rudra Narayan Mohanty.
Considering the prevailing summer conditions, only college-level students will participate in the parade. Students from both government and private educational institutions that have parade bands will be allowed to participate. Furthermore, students from schools and colleges will take part in dance and singing competitions centered around the theme “Ama Rajdhani.” These competitions will be held at Rabindra Mandap, while cultural functions will take place in the evenings at Utkal Mandap on both days.
ADM Mohanty has instructed departmental officers to make arrangements for law and order, drinking water, and other necessary facilities during the events. Additionally, a decision has been taken to decorate all government and private buildings and commercial establishments with lighting.
