Bhubaneswar Hotel Cook Murdered Following Altercation Over Eating Fish

Bhubaneswar: A cook of a hotel on Damana Street in the capital city was brutally murdered by another hotel employee during a dispute over eating fish on Tuesday night.

The deceased has been identified as Pitambar Jena, a native of Sorda in Odisha’s Ganjam district, and was working as a cook in the hotel for 15 years.

According to reports, there was an altercation between Pitambara and a hotel employee over eating fish last night. Thereafter, the enraged hotel employee chased Pitambara and hacked him to death with a sharp object.

On being informed, police reached the hotel and sent the body for post-mortem. Chandrasekharpur police detained the accused and launched a further probe into the incident.
