Bhubaneswar: Lok Sabha Member from Bhubaneswar, Aparajita Sarangi was not invited to the State-level function held here on the occasion of Capital Foundation Day (April 13).
Regretting the omission which she termed ‘not innocuous’, Sarangi wrote a letter to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, apprising him of the matter.
“Our political ideologies may be different but Odisha Government needs to learn to extend minimum courtesy to people’s representatives,” she stated.
“I had not been invited by the State Government to attend the function. Neither the invitation card has my name nor I have been spoken to by anybody in the State Government,” she wrote.
Sarangi has marked a copy of the letter to Speaker of Odisha Legislative Assembly Surjya Narayan Patro and has urged the CM to enquire about the matter.
Speaking on the issue, local MLA and Minister Ashok Chandra Panda said that the stakeholders involved in the function should ensure that ‘the event is more organised with the involvement of public representatives’.
