Bhubaneswar: New Covid-19 Cases Drop Below 200 For Second Day In A Row; 2 Deaths

Bhubaneswar: Capital city of Odisha-Bhubaneswar continued with its continuous drop in the detection of fresh cases of Covid-19 reporting below 200 positive cases for the second consecutive day.

As per Covid-19 update shared by the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) through a tweet today, 182 new positive cases were detected in the city during the last 24 hours till 9 AM today.

However, on the fatalities side, the city has recorded two deaths in the last 24 hours for the second consecutive day taking the death toll due to the disease to 150.

The city as on date has 28,481 Covid cases out of that 2,415 are active cases.

The civic body has also informed that 276 Covid patients have been cured in the city during the last 24 hours taking the total number of recoveries in the city to 25,895.

The worrisome factor is that out of the 182 new positive cases, a whopping 138(75.82%) are local contact cases while the remaining 44 are quarantine cases.

The maximum number of local contact cases have been reported from Nayapalli-11, Patia-09, Patrapada-07, Unit-8 area-07, and Dumduma-06.
