**Bhubaneswar:** A long wait is over now for the people of Western Odisha. The passengers will now avail the facility of Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Rajdhani Express as the railways will run the train via Sambalpur City once a week with effect from today.
Minister of State for Railways Manoj Sinha and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan flagged off the much awaited Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Rajdhani Express via Sambalpur through video-conferencing from Railway Board at New Delhi at 6:45 am.
Notably, last year on September 27, the railway minister had taken the decision to run the sought-after train between Delhi and Bhubaneswar via Sambalpur.
It will run as 20817/20818 Bhubaneswar-New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express via Sambalpur City and Jharsuguda with stoppages at Cuttack, Sambalpur City, Jharsuguda, Rourkela, Chakradharpur, Anara, Gomoh, Koderma, Gaya, Mughalsarai and Kanpur Central between Bhubaneswar and New Delhi from both the directions.
The train will leave Bhubaneswar at 7.10 am every Saturday and reach New Delhi at 10.40 am the next day. The schedule arrival at Sambalpur City station is 11:58 am with a two minute stoppage.
After introduction of Rajdhani Express via Sambalpur City, the Railways will cancel the Rajdhani services via Bhadrak and Adra on every Saturdays from Bhubaneswar and on every Sundays from New Delhi, sources said.
