Bhubaneswar: Putting rest to the suspense behind the mysterious missing of one Simanchal Parida on the day of the furious explosion in the IOCL fuel station near Odisha Raj Bhawan (Governor’s House) on October 3, the much-awaited DNA report has confirmed his death in the mishap.
Twin City Police Commissioner informed media today that the DNA report has confirmed that the samples of strewn body parts collected from the spot match with the family members of Simanchal.
Briefing media, Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi said, “We have received the DNA report. The report has confirmed that missing Simanchal Parida has been killed in the explosion. This has been intimated to his family members and we express deep condolences.”
“The IOCL authorities have also been intimated in this regard so that the bereft family would get the due compensation. In this mishap, two persons have succumbed, including Simanchal Parida. No other person’s death has been mentioned in the DNA report. Investigation into the case is still on. In a day or two, more information will be given to media,” quipped the Police Commissioner.
