Bhubaneswar: With the rise in mercury level, Bhubaneswar again turned the hottest among the cities and towns in Odisha with a maximum temperature of 39.4 degree Celsius recorded in the last 24 hours.
As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), 16 places in Odisha have recorded a temperature above 35 degree Celsius with Baripada the second hottest place recording a maximum temperature of 38 degree Celsius.
Followed by Angul at 37.7, Titilagarh at 37.6, Talcher at 37.1, Cuttack and Bolangir at 37.0, Jharsuguda at 36.6, Nayagarh at 36.5, Chandabali and Sambalpur at 36.2, Hirakud at 36.1 and Bhawanipatna at 36.0 degree Celsius.
Sonepur, Balasore and Malkangiri recorded maximum temperatures of 35.8, 35.4 and 35.0 degree Celsius respectively. The lowest temperature of 11 degree Celsius has been recorded at Phulbani.
